PrisAM is an advanced manufacturing company specializing in multifunctional sandwich structures for the aerospace and defense industries. The company's unique, additively manufactured lattice cores provide unparalleled stiffness and weight reduction, while its upcoming digital twin technology enables predictive maintenance. This combination results in sandwich structures that are not only stronger and lighter but also more reliable and cost-effective than traditional alternatives.

PrisAM’s structures are on track to be deployed in radomes for weapon systems, medium to large uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV), non-critical components for crewed aircraft, and various naval and transportation end-uses The company’s ability to create complex curved shapes through additive manufacturing sets it apart from competitors, and its commitment to environmentally friendly composite materials aligns with industry sustainability goals.

REIMAGINED

PRISAM utilizes proprietary Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) hardware and software to manufacture large-scale composite lattice structures for the unmanned aircraft industry. The lattice structures offer high strength-to-weight ratios and geometric design flexibility, with optimized material utilization achieved through controlled density distributions. PRISAM's technology enables the rapid production of these structures, 24 times faster and at 50% reduced cost compared to traditional methods. PRISAM's market-driven approach positions the company as a leading player in the composite aircraft structures industry.

Hardware

We are developing specialized printing hardware for manufacturing lattice core structures. Traditional FDM methods result in laminated lattice trusses with poor strength qualities. Our hardware is specially designed for non-planar printing enabling the deposition of continuous trusses. This reduces printing times and increases part strength while utilizing minimal material.

Software

Our non-planar printing process has lead to the development of customized slicing software. As existing slicers, our software takes in 3D CAD models to generate tool paths. What sets our apart is the ability to generate non-planar tool paths.
